Board of Directors

As an all-volunteer organization, our Board members and Directors work very hard to bring you the best Paint horse shows possible - don’t hesitate to call or email them and let them know how to make your club better for you.

Founded in 1966, HPPHC is recognized by the American Paint Horse Association and is located in APHA’s Zone 3 region. High Plains Paint Horse Club is operated as a Colorado non-profit corporation:
  • To promote and encourage good horsemanship and good sportsmanship

  • To promote and stimulate interest in the Paint Horse on a regional basis by educating the public about the qualities of the breed

  • To promote the showing of registered Paint Horses

  • To cooperate fully with other regional Paint Horse Clubs and with the APHA to further the cause of the Paint Horse Breed

By Laws and Show Rules

HPPHC is an organization dedicated to promoting, breeding and showing the American Paint Horse. High Plains Paint Horse Club is a registered organization whose breed shows are sanctioned by the American Paint Horse Association (APHA). HPPHC members compete to earn club points for club show and year-end awards, and APHA points to win APHA Zone 3 awards and APHA national awards. Zone 3 includes Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming, though we regularly also see exhibitors from California, Texas and Utah.

In order to be eligible for year-end club awards, you and everyone on your horse’s registration papers must be an HPPHC member at the time that you show in order for your points to apply. Send in your membership form today and ensure that every point you earn is counted!

Get involved. HPPHC is a completely volunteer organization, so if you have extra time at a horse show or a special skill you can share – we need you and your talents! Contact our Member Relations Director - Becky Osborne to see how you can help.
We also want to hear from you about how we can make the horse shows better – so just drop us a line or get involved in the Show Committee. The Show Committee establishes the show bill and manages the horse shows. Contact Cheryl Kilker for more information.
In addition there is the Marketing Committee which strives to expand participation and our membership and attract sponsors and advertisers. If you have ideas about it or would like to support our club with prizes or sponsorships, contact Becky Osborne.

Zone 3

The Zone 3 Coordinating Committee is comprised of representatives from regional clubs within the American Paint Horse Association's Zone 3 (Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming). The Zone awards college scholarships as well as added prizes at the annual Zone 3 Zone-O-Rama, held in conjunction with, and produced by the National Western Stock Show.
